Thanksgiving Break

For thanksgiving break this year, my family and I went to New Jersey, to visit family and friends. We had to drive of course, because there is 7 people in my family... BIG FAMILY! Anyway, our drive to New Jersey was long and boring (20 hours)! We left on Monday November 23, we woke up around 4 am and were on the road around 4:30. On this particular Monday we drove all day long, even part of Tuesday morning. We got to my grandparents house around 1:30 am, and had some fried chicken... we were hungry! Then after we ate we went to sleep.

The whole time we were in New Jersey I got to sleep on the pull out bed in the great room... but I did want to, but maybe just so I could get away from my sisters. On the first "real" day we were in New Jersey, my sister Meghan and I got to go see my new baby cousin Jake, and my Aunt, and we sort of got to see my Uncle... he got back from work 10 minutes before we left. Ten minutes isn't very long. At the very end of that day, we got the very best... Scotto's Pizza! Yaaaaaaaaaaay! We were all so excited to have the real stuff... it was yummy! Then we got to- before we went to sleep- see my best friend from when we still lived in New Jersey (4 and a half years ago).

When we pulled up in their driveway, Christina came running out and picked me up and swung me around, not that I didn't want to see her, but the swinging thing was a little... weird. Then when we went into her house where it was actually light, I saw how super tall Christina was, I'm not exaggerating at all, she is a foot and 2 inches taller than me. She even picked me up.... we took a picture of that. Also when my mom went and hugged Christina, Christina could look straight ahead and just see my moms hair. My mom is also average size, she isn't short at all... Christina's parents are really tall though, so thats how she is so tall. That was all done on just on Tuesday.

Then came my crazy Wednesday. My sister Emily were planning on seeing friends (old friends ...ones we haven't seen in forever)... which we did. So we left around the time all of our friends would be getting off the bus, first we went to see one of my old friends Amanda, when I went into her house all I thought to say was hi... luckily my mom came in and started a conversation with Amanda's dad. Or something really bad would have happened, it was like I had stage fright... just at someone's home... awkward! We went to see some more friends ... Danielle, Lauren, and Kaitlyn. Then the last friends we saw for the day, were the Kainers. Evan, was my boyfriend as a 4-7 year old, when we went to their house Emily and I went to their backyard to see that they were paying tag- in the rain? Then once everyone came inside, we went to their basement where their washer and dryer was. Who knew that Evan could fit in the dryer?

On Thursday (Thanksgiving) we had some more family come to my grandparents house, and I was the one who had to set the table. We ate and it was yummy! Then, we all got to hold baby Jake again. We all fought over who got to hold him because he is just so cute!

Friday was awesome.... we went to New York! We also met up with our Aunt, cousin, and my Aunt's boyfriend. We all went to the "Museum of Natural History". That's where "Night in the Museum" was filmed... but it didn't ring any bells at first. We all got the best of the best New York hot dogs ...YUMMY! Saturday was our last half day in New Jersey, it was a packing day. We left around 11 am, and we went to my mom's friend's house for lunch where we had sandwiches and they were good. Then we drove for the rest of the day before stopping at a hotel for the night.

When we woke up on Sunday, we went to a church (St. Andrew's in Roanoke, VA). The priest (if you've ever been on a Disney monorail you will know what I'm about to say) sounded like the man on the monorail saying... "Please stand clear of the doors". It was really funny.

On Sunday night we finally got home, and we got to sleep in out own beds. I found a DEAD roach in my room (mom says it's because I bring snacks to my room), so i was a little scared to sleep, 'cause I thought that there might be a roach in my bed. There wasn't... Hurray!

Well, thats the end of my Thanksgiving Vacation Story! :D

Good Night

BOREDOM!!

This is how bored I am!... This is my 4 year old sister Catherine Rose... she's well... never mind
I am oh so very bored right now so I thought of coming on to my blog. Right now I am sitting down in front of the computer, typing this out. Even though you probably already know that... I am just so stinkin' bored! My older 14 year old sister Emily is sitting over my shoulder correcting what I type. GRRRRRRRRR! I don't like it when people do that to me! Well it is almost time for me to go to bed so I don't have much time left to type. ha-ha there's mom telling me "Karin its almost time for bed so finish up". To me that is really funny because I just got done typing that i didn't have much time... well I guess I have nothing else to type... there is absolutely nothing on my mind right now so....

Me and my Sisters

This is me and my sisters. Yes there are five of us, plus mom and dad so thats 7, plus two dogs so thats 9... we have a big family.
  • Emily (bottom right) (14)
  • Me (top left) (12)
  • Meghan (bottom right) (9)
  • Becky (top right) (7)
  • Catherine (top middle) (4)
Most of the time its a lot of fun having 4 sisters, but, yes, but sometimes it can be really annoying if you know what I mean. Luckily only 2 of us share a room the rest of us get our own. Since Emily is a teenager she can be bossy, mean, annoying, etc., so usually I just stay out of her way. Meghan is really annoying because most of the time she won't stop talking... I wish she had a volume button sometimes. Becky is really, pretty much, the same as Meghan. Catherine, oh Catherine, well she is 4 so... well lets just say she has a big vocabulary. She is a lot like Meghan and Becky because she relates to them more than she does to me and Emily. Well since I told you the annoying things about them I should tell you the good and nice things... right. Well first of all we are supposed to get along and fight with our siblings so I'm on the right track. I love my sisters more than anything. And I'm glad i have them , because if i didn't I would get lonely, and wouldn't have anyone to fight with, so thank you God for blessing me with my sisters.

Book Review "A Wrinkle In Time"

imgres.jpg
"A Wrinkle In Time"is a great book I think it is very mystical, mysterious, imaginative, in many more describable ways. I liked this book because it kept me wanting to read the next chapter. L'Engle ends every chapter with you sitting there hanging, wanting to know what happens next. This is why I think it is a good book, because if you want to find out what happens next after "every" chapter, that will help you finish it faster. If you are someone that doesn't like reading very much, unless it is a mystery, imaginative book, then I suggest that you read this fantastic book.

Excuse Girl

I am the Queen of excuses. When mom says " Karin put on your retainer" I say " well I'm going to eat now so i can't". " Karin its time for school" " Well I need to shower", or " Didn't eat breakfast yet". Even when dad says " Karin its time for you to do your job in the kitchen" i'll say "Well i have homework", or " I'm really tired I should go to bed"
These are only some of my excuses... I have many more. :D

Comet

This is my other dog Comet, after he got his buzz cut! Its ok you can laugh if you want, but don't you agree with me don't you think that he looks like an Egyptian cat, after he gets shaved? Thats what I think. Well any-who... Comet is a very good dog, I wouldn't give him or my other dog away for anything! Comet is very obedient, and trustworthy, so if your looking for a dog I'd suggest looking for a Border Collie. Border Collies are great with small kids because they are herding dogs so they make sure that nothing goes wrong, they are very protective.

My cutie

after
-before

I know what your thinking... "awwwwwwww". Yes he is very very cute, but this is when we first got him at 9 "weeks" old. He was a very whiney puppy at this age, well he still is. Anyway we found out that he was deaf about 3 days after we got him because if he wasn't looking at us when we called him loudly he wouldn't come, he wouldn't even move. :( But he still was a very cute puppy we loved him very much and still do. Now he is a big, 9 "month" old dog... i love my cutie!

Me and My BFF

This is me (right) and my best friend (left) at a swim-meet. We are such great friends that we wear the same swim suits! We are both competitive swimmers who love it a lot. We practice together... well we do a lot of things together because we are the best friends you can find for a million miles! We have both been on the same swim team for almost 5 years! Our swim team used to just be called to lasers, but then one night my coach and another coach decided that since we were both small teams we should come together and be a great big team. So thats what happened and now I have a lot of friends who were on the other swim team. I could never regret that happening. :D

My Blog :D

Well today I finally got my mom to set up a blog for me! Maybe I should write a little bit in it.:) Why don't i write a little bit about myself, I am a swimmer, number two of the five daughters in my family. I am a homeschooler, this is my second year. I love art, I take an art class for two hours every Monday... it's a lot of fun. I love animals, I have two dogs, a Border Collie named Comet, and an Australian Shepherd, Great Dane named Auggie. Comet is very smart, and Auggie is Deaf! But we love both of our dogs a lot anyway.
